el pasatiempo nacional.....

que es el pasatiempo nacional? cabe destacar que en EUA el baseball (beisbol se me hace una tortura al nombre del deporte....)se le conoce como el pasatiempo nacional ya que ha sido un juego muy popular y que tiene ciertos lazos historicos importantes con EUA.

Al ver estos juegos olimpicos llevados a cabo en China (les aclaro que me revienta el higado, timpano, los sesos, etc. que sean en Beijing) me sorprendio y alegro que los atletas mexicanos en el arte del TAE KWON DO hayan tenido un desempenyo sobresaliente.

Inmediatamente despues de ver las noticias sobre la 2nda medalla de oro para Mexico (en el mismo ramo)no pude evitar el recordar cuando estaba viendo las noticias sobre la delegacion mexicana en rumbo a Beijing y nunca mencionaron al equipo de artes marciales como posible contendiente fuerte por medallas; obvio que Charlito LoretdeMole no tiene amplio conocimiento de deporte.....pero que les costaba que le pusieran a alguien que si?

Esto me lleva a pensar que aunque me gusta mucho el soccer....al ver el desempenyo de atletas mexicanos en Tae kwon do vis a vis el tri.....pos seria mas de la idea de que el Tae kwon do fuera el pasatiempo nacional de Mexico.....por lo siguiente:

1) no requiere de mucha lana (como en aquellos donde tienes que poner hasta el caballo)
2) sirve como medio para solucionar broncas (imaginate que dos individuos se bajen de sus autos despues de mentarse la mother sobre Zaragoza y decidan resolverlo a patadas)
3) ayudaria a reducir el numero de obesos (ejercicio?!)
4) para que tuviera mas appeal....hacer unos rounds en grupo, banda, manada, raza, etc. al estilo royal rumble o que se yo (como cuando todos los luchadores se suben al ring) y asi se haria tambien un deporte de conjunto.

Ya en serio...es una pena que uno no se de cuenta de los niveles de calidad que hay en su pais cuando por casi nada te saltan a la cara.....en mi caso no me habia fijado que en el transcurso de mi vida en este planeta conozco a facil 20+ individuos que practican artes marciales (diferentes edades, generos, amigos/familiares), algunos inclusive dan clases en otras partes del pais.....

Ahora bien si yo fuera amo y sr. del deporte mexicano.... preferiria invertirle la lana al deporte del Tae Kwon Do que a equipuchos como el America......wakala!!

Why are the olympics rubbing me the wrong way...

Hey all,

So everything was cool this morning...you know...doing the usual...waking up, gettin' ready for work and so on.......I turn on the TV and lo and behold....the beijing olympics opening ceremony on all its glory blazing on my screen.....

I gotta admit that i had my moment of thinkin' like a brainwashed dude: "oh how lovely....there IS hope for the world....everybody is together...we can all enjoy the olympics as a little gateway were sports are the only means thru which humans interact with each other...."

It all sort of came crashing down when i changed the channel to CNN...

Somebody at the Kremlin (Putin is in China you see...THE OLYMPICS!!) thought it was a great idea to invade a separatist province....and no..we're not talking about Chechnya....that's old school.....we're talkin' South Ossetia....in GEORGIA....which is, for all you people who are rusty in Geography (BIG HOLLA TO MS. BETTY!), a COUNTRY on its own right......which happens to be near Russia....

Gotta give it to the russians...when they say they'll provide support to their peacekeepers....they don't fuck around....they send a whole bloody tank division....

ok, ok....so let's put sarcasm aside for a second.....what's wrong with watching athletes that might or might not be doped with high tech/high performance substances? that ever since the Marion Jones fiasco....i can't help but think that somebody on the track, in the pool, on the field....is seriously doin' some heavy stuff...and the innocence and complete honesty of what the competition at the olympics meant has died.....medallas o cuello!!

I'd also like to point out that....in my humble opinion, if the chinese were so thorough in organizing what many call the "perfect" olympic games....couldn't we all as humans...fight for a "perfect" world? or plainly put, can't we all just get along?
